Project 61

Project 61 is our Thanksgiving sponsorship and Christmas adoption ministry.

"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me  to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted..."
(Isaiah 61:1a)

How does it work?

For just $25, your donation will provide a Thanksgiving meal box for a family in need - complete with turkey and all the fixings. The meals will be purchased and distributed through Broad Street Ministry Center on one of two distribution nights the week of Thanksgiving.

OR

At Christmas, your group/class/family/etc can adopt a family by providing a Christmas meal and gifts. The meal box is $25 PLUS we ask that you purchase 3 (new) items for each family member. You choose the family size. The items are to be dropped off at Broad Street Ministry Center no later than December 7. Food and gifts will be distributed during our celebration nights on the Monday and Tuesday before Christmas.

I want to adopt. What's the next step?

To adopt for Thanksgiving, mail your $25 donation or drop it by 20 Broad Street, Augusta, GA 30901. Please remember to designate it as Thanksgiving. Donations are due no later than November 14.

To adopt for Christmas, you can sign up in three ways:
1) Call the office at 706-722-5999
2) Email broadstreetministry@comcast.net
3) Fill out the 2012 adopter form.  Then, we will send you (by email or by mail) a profile of your family with names, ages, gender, sizes, interests, etc. Gifts and donations are due no later than December 7.

I'd like to volunteer at Thanksgiving or Christmas. How do I sign up?

On the Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving and the Monday and Tuesday before Christmas, we host our distribution nights. These are fun events where we get to share Christ's love with the adopted families as they come to receive their meal boxes and gifts. To volunteer for one of these nights, simply call 706-722-5999 or email bsmcassistant@comcast.net.

This year, BSMC hopes to again have over 200 families to adopt for Thanksgiving
and for Christmas. Thank you in advance for your help in sharing the hope of Christ
with families in need this Thanksgiving and Christmas.
